Non-human Narratives

This ongoing project, Non-human Narratives, utilises so-called bait cameras, which I have used in my practice for over ten years.

Set up in various locations in rural Sweden, bait cameras, also known as trail or game cameras, are used for a range of purposes. Their main use by hunters and nature preservationists is to monitor how many different species and numbers of those species there are in a specific area. The camera is fitted with a motion sensor, triggered as soon as the animals in the area approach the food – the bait – placed on the ground in front of the lens. My continuous use of footage from these cameras reflects my interest in non-human experiences, narratives and image making.
